ASSOCHAM with the support of Department of Commerce and Industry is organizing a high profile Summit on " West Bengal - The Investment Destination" on 6th January 2010 in Kolkata.
West Bengal as you know is the 3rd largest growing state in India and 2nd largest recipient of investment in the country. The State government has undertaken various policy measures for accelerating development of the State. Attractive incentive schemes under various sector specific policies have been laid down to attract investments in some of the highly potential sectors namely Agriculture and Food Processing, Manufacturing and other allied industry and Power and Non-Conventional Sources of Energy etc.
Shri. Nirupam Sen, Minister-in-Charge, Department of Commerce & Industry, Government of West Bengal has very kindly agreed to grace the occasion as the Chief Guest and address the Summit. Senior functionaries of the State Government including Principal Secretaries from the relevant departments; senior representatives of financial institutions and corporations; policy/development planners and leading industrialists, potential investors; entrepreneurs; and more particularly those concerned about the economic, social and cultural well being of the people of West Bengal are expected to join and address the Summit. A couple of MOUs which are currently under consideration by the State Government are also likely to be finalized at the Summit.
